Need a quick start with a new strategy? Use the AI capability of the BSC Designer platform specialized in strategic planning.
Getting Started
- Sign up for a free account with BSC Designer.
- Log in and select New > New Scorecard > Strategy Assistant.
- Start a chat: use “Prompt Templates” for predefined prompts, or explain to the AI what kind of strategy you need.
- Review and approve the suggestions provided by the AI.
Examples of AI Prompts
Start using the AI assistant by running one of the predefined templates:

| Suggest goals and KPIs | Creates a strategy scorecard with objectives, KPIs, and initiatives based on information about your organization and its challenges. |
| Generate sample KPI data | Fills the existing scorecard with plausible sample data (useful for scenario planning). |
| Review scorecard quality | Reviews the scorecard from the viewpoint of consistency and completeness. |
| Analyze KPI performance | Analyzes KPI data to identify anomalies and trends. |
| Cascade strategy into scorecards | Helps cascade strategy by creating scorecards for different organizational levels. |
| Add charts to the dashboard | Automatically populates dashboards with relevant charts. |
| Import data from Excel | Helps import an existing strategy from Excel spreadsheets into BSC Designer. |
| Risk analysis with the Bowtie method | Helps conduct Bowtie risk analysis for defined central risk events. |
You can customize the prompt templates or run your own prompts:
- “Create a strategy for my company that {info about company} using the Balanced Scorecard framework.”
- “I’d like to create a strategy for my company. Ask me guiding questions to create the strategy according to the Balanced Scorecard framework.”
- “Assign targets for the … KPI as follows: …”
Follow-up questions:
- “Suggest more goals for the ‘…’ perspective.”
- “Define the KPIs for the goal ‘…'”
- “What are possible action plans for the goal {…}? Suggest adding some relevant initiatives.”
- “Do risk analysis in the context of ‘…’ goal and add those risks.”
Contextual Information
By default, the AI assistant has access to information from the Settings > Strategy tab:
- Company mission
- Company vision
- Company values
To provide the AI with additional context, use the “Additional” field in Menu > Settings > Strategy. This will improve the results generated by the AI strategy assistant.
What’s Next?
Review the results:
- Anytime, you can switch to the KPIs tab to review the results.
- Switch to the Strategy Map tab to review the automatically created strategy map and export it if needed.
Improve the strategy:
- Provide more context to the AI (via Settings > Strategy).
- Learn about other scenarios where AI can assist.
Continue with strategy implementation:
